Ace of Wands

Key words: Inspiration, Starting something new and exciting, creation.

The Aces of tarot bring a new beginning. The ace of wands brings that sense of excitement and butterfly tinglies along for the ride. You may have a spark of inspiration to start a new creative project, a new job, or a completely new way of life. This ace brings an element of passion and excitement in its wake and advises a big old hell yeah, go for it type of vibe.

If reversed, The ace of wands can point to a missed opportunity or something not materializing as you had hoped. energy or passion may be lacking.

Two of Wands

Key words: Plans, partnership, initial success, second step

After the inspiration of the ace, planning is needed. There has been initial success in your aims and now it is time to decide the second steps.  The world is your oyster and now you may need to decide if you are ready to leave your comfort zone and advance. Dependent on context, This particular 2 can indicate good partnerships or corroboration.

If reversed, action is advised. It seems a decision has not yet been made and its leading no where fast. Decide on a path and take it.

Three of Wands

Key words: Expansion, opportunities on the horizon, Ships coming in, foresight.

Plans have been made and things are progressing nicely. The Three of wand brings expansion and further opportunities on the horizon. Further plans will still need to be made. The 3 of wands advises you to keep looking to the future

If reversed, no progress is being made. You may need to go back to the initial planning stages and see what needs adjusted

Four of Wands

Key words:Celebration, milestone,Home, vacation, gratitude

A milestone has been reached and it's time to take a well deserved break in order to celebrate. The four of wands indicates good times and  celebrations in all forms.  This card holds a strong association for me of the home and actually was my card of the day when we had my oldest sons housewarming party!  The four of wands can advise to be grateful for what you have and any milestones reached especially in regards to others who have been there for you along the way.

If reversed, this card is still fairly positive, but can indicate that there is something deflecting some of the joy that would be felt. This may also mean that you are afraid of leaving your comfort zone.

Five of Wands

Key words: conflict, difference of opinion, petty obstacles, scattered energy

The Five of wands appears when your energy is scattered with too many things vying  for your attention. Remember that any obstacles are minor and most likely a bit petty. They  can be overcome with a bit of practical application.  This card can bring conflict or difference of opinion with others, but can just as easily indicate a bit of friendly competition. In any scenario, remember not to let ego take center stage in any conflicts and keep competitions on the fun side.

If reversed, I actually see this as indicating any scattered or competing energies are coming to a close and improvement is on the horizon.

Six of Wands

Key words: Achievement, recognition,  graceful pride.

Difficulties are overcome and you are getting back in the saddle.  Other people notice your achievements and are cheering you on. This is a time for allowing graceful pride to shine through. You really should be proud of your accomplishments thus far, but don't forget those who have been in your corner. Beating out the competition.

Reversed: Falling out of the saddle and dropping the ball! May need to asses where and how you are expanding your energy in order to regroup. Fall from grace and allowing ego to take over. Losing out to competition.

Seven of Wands

Key words: Standing up, defend, staying on top

When the 7 of wands makes an appearance, it feels as though everything is coming at you at once, but you have the stamina to stay on top. Take care of one thing at a time and the rest will fall into place. You may find that you need to stand up for yourself or defend beliefs against opposition. This may catch you off guard, but you are in a good position to overcome the challenge.

Reversed: Giving up the cause or becoming overwhelmed

Eight of Wands

Key words: Fast moving energy, take flight, whirlwind. Travel

Fast movement and excitement replace any obstacles. Situations move along fairly quickly without any resistance. In some situations, the eight of wands can represent the arrival of news or rapid communication.

Reversed: Stagnation, no forward movement or progress is being made.May need to re evaluate your position

Nine of Wands

Key Words: Set back, on guard, weary, perseverance.

You are nearing the end of a phase and you may feel like giving up. There are setbacks and you are tired of it!! However, you are so close and now is not the time to give up. Perseverance is needed.  You have what it takes to finish this and move on.

Reversed: When reversed, your head is buried and you are hemmed in. There is no drive or ambition to see things through to the end. Giving up.

Ten of Wands:

Key Words: Burden, pressure, carrying too much.

So many wands the person is carrying! He grasps them all as he is struggling towards the finish line. The 10 of wands says you have too much on your plate and you are under the pressure of it all.
Though you are tired, this is the final push.

Reversed: your head is buried under the weight and it seems everything is at a standstill. You may need to put, at least one thing down in order to see the way forward.

Note: For the Court cards, I did not include reversed meanings here as I feel it can bring in confusion. A helpful hint, is to consider a reversed card to imply more negative aspects of the card,  to imply that the upright characteristics may be needed, or that there is a block in some manner to the representation of the card
