When I first started looking into crystals, the information was overwhelming. I truly thought that I needed to know and memorize everything about all different stones. It didn't take more than a couple of Google searches to know that would be next to impossible.... for me, at least. Then, I finally realized that I didn't need to remember every single stone in order to be able to help point people in the right direction. In this post, I will tell you some of my favorite stones for anxiety and focus; as well as some trusted sites I use. We will also talk about a little "rule of thumb" that can be helpful in choosing crystals for your intended purpose.
Some of the best crystals I have found for anxiety are Howlite and Amethyst . Howlite is a white colored stone that corresponds with the crown chakra and is thought to calm an overactive mind to bring in emotional balance. Amethyst is a purple stone which is connected to the crown and third eye chakras. Amethyst is thought to be an overall healing stone which promotes insight, focus and anxiety relief.
My favorite crystal, hands down, for promoting focus is Amazonite. For me, it is the beautiful greenish color that I was draw to. Amazonite is thought to filter out distractions allowing focus. It can promote harmony and balance between the mind and our intuition.
Kyanite is considered a stone of connections in all forms: with others, self, and source. Considered a barrier crystal, it is believed to help us stay focused while keeping undesirable energies out of our lives.
Instead of trying to memorize each crystal, I suggest getting a notebook specifically for your learning purposes. This enables you to look back over information that you have gathered. As you work more with your crystals, you will start to recall specific information. Two of my favorite online resources are Crystal Vaults.com and The Crystal Council.com. These sites are my go to's and go over each crystal's properties in depth. These are where I researched and condensed these 15 crystals and their brief overview,
There may be times when you are called to a specific stone without knowing any information about it. This brings us to that little "rule of thumb" we touched on earlier. As you go deeper into the metaphysical rabbit hole, you will start to see how many things are inner connected. If you already have experience with chakra's, you will notice that the colors associated with them can correlate to crystal colors and therefore, have a good idea of what the healing properties of individual stones are associated with. For instance, if you know that the root chakra, which deals with matters of security corresponds with reds and black; Then you may pick a black stone such as Apache Tear if you want a protective stone. The biggest rule of thumb, though is to merely follow and trust your own intuition. If you are drawn to a particular crystal, trust there is a reason. You will find when you do research it, that something in the healing properties of that stone will resonate with you. Enjoy the journey.
